Significance
It is a platform dedicated to spatial creation and innovation, trough parametric processes, with research and innovation on the transformation of materials; as well as the development and fabrication of interactive spatial mechanisms with incursion on design and machine programming with artificial intelligent to construct through mathematical, physic, biologic and chemical processes.
Specific goal
1. To have no limits to the innovation and creativity, always keeping in mind the interaction with other sciences and disciplines that enrich the laboratory.
Research and development lines
1. Experimentation of processes for the transformation of the matter to define control parameters, with the goal of finding new architectural applications.
2. To develop new interactive spatial mechanisms and optimization of architectural spaces.
3. Exploration of organic, parametric and dynamic geometries, for being applied to the context in real time.
4. Constant seek of the maximum potential of programming for the generation of geometries.
5. Planning and manufacture of new machines programmed for digital fabrication.
6. Planning of intelligent cities.
7. Full use of emergent methodologies, materials, technology and software for the development of the research lines that actually are used by LAMMM in IDETI such as: Maya, Grasshopper, Rhinoceros, Arduino, Catia, Processing, Zbrush, Echotech, Direct Finite Element Analysis, Rapid Prototyping CAD/CAM, CNC, SLS- Selective Laser Sintering, Laminated Object Manufacturing, 3D Printing, Crystallography, Photonics, Graphene, Polymers, among others.
1. Flota(forma)tion
Application of gravity and flotation, through the technic of immersion in watery solutions with different solutes, to take advantage of the physic and chemical properties of the materials that facilitates a perfect nucleation of the crystals for the construction of architectural spaces.
2. 2. Construction materials with graphene
Alloy of different materials with graphene to reinforce its properties and give solution to problems of construction and maintenance of housing in different geographical areas.
3. Arch-Biomed
Medical engineering and architecture gets merged to take advantage of human anatomy and physiology on the generation of organic geometries, which facilitates biomedical engineers to understand the parametric geometries for the design of biomedical products. From this project emerges an exo-skeleton, a machine for textiles made of graphene and polymers threads for biomedical products and architectural spaces, as well as an architectural vertebrate space.
4. Smart Spaces and Cities
Ambitious Project that uses inteligent materials, graphene, photonics, neural interfaces, programming, 3D scanning, among other technologies to create architectural complexes with artificial intelligence that adapts to the user necessities trough brain mapping. This is another of those projects where biotechnology, medicine, neurosciences and other disciplines get involved.
